The Driver position starts at $14.
50 per hour, working less than 40 hours per week.
This opening is for a driver for Wednesday through Saturday but may extend into other days of the week.
Driving a provided WheelCare, LLC van is required while assisting, and securing passengers during transport.
Most trips are local but may be long distance as well as 24/7.
Training will be provided.
Hiring is dependent on passing drug, background and MVR screens.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license with 3-years verifiable driving experience.
Must have a clean driving record for last 7 years - No DUI/DWI's and No Suspensions.
Must have reliable transportation to work.
Must be able to drive a van with wheelchair ramp.
Clean driving record (past 7 years)- No DUI/DWI's and No Suspensions.
Must be able to comply with physical demands below.
Must be punctual and flexible with schedule in relation to business needs AM and PM.
Must be able to communicate with customers and dispatchers effectively and clearly.
Bilingual is a plus, but must speak, read, and write English.
Must have an ability to be trained, coached, and counseled.
JOB DUTIES:
Safely transport clients to medical and non-medical appointments.
Safely transport wheelchair bound and ambulatory clients.
Safely operate wheelchair van (company vehicle provided).
Keeping accurate electronic logs.
A geographic knowledge of the area is a plus.
Know how to operate a smart phone.
Cell allowance is provided.
Drivers are responsible for keeping their vehicles clean, inside and out, with company provided supplies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to safely escort clients in manual wheelchairs.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, and stretch in confided spaces.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to safely assist clients walking with or without a walker.
Eyesight must comply with the standards set forth by the O.
D.
O.
T.
for day and night driving; may be corrected with the aid of prescription eyewear.
Hearing of low and high frequencies is required and may be corrected with the use of hearing aids.
Provided Training Required:
CPR & First Aid Certificate (company paid).
Passenger Assistance Certificate (company paid).
Defensive Driving Certificate (company paid).
Wheelchair securement Certificate (company paid).
DRESS CODE:
Must adhere to dress code (company provides shirts).
Drivers are required to wear a mask when requested by the customer.
(company provided mask).
OTHER:
Part-time work is available but additional hours may be required.
Bonus pay per passenger transported.
12 hours of training time is paid once driver reports to first trip.
