Purpose The Director of Contemporary Worship is responsible for overseeing the music ministry for the Table Service.
The music program should portray Christ in the singing and playing of songs, hymns, and spiritual songs to allow for compassionate worship.
Continuing education is encouraged and may be required as deemed necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities Select and provide suitable music for the Table service, coordinating music selections with the Senior Pastor to select pieces that are compatible with the type of service, sermon topic, and season of the church year.
Recruiting and training of musicians.
Able to hold musicians and team members accountable when deemed necessary.
Conduct rehearsals with the praise band as needed.
Utilize and develop the varied musical skills and abilities of the congregation into worship services.
Participate in the weekly Worship content meetings.
Use Planning Center as the means to plan, organize and communicate the weekly worship service agendas.
Provide necessary information for publishing in the bulletin for services.
This is done through the information provided in Planning Center.
Be present and lead worship music at regularly scheduled services unless suitable arrangements are made beforehand.
Communicate needs and concerns related to the music program to the Senior pastor.
Maintain control of church facility keys and ensuring facilities are secured following scheduled rehearsals.
Perform other related duties as required by the Senior pastor that pertain to the music program of the church.
Other duties as assigned.
