The function of the Service General Manager, is to plan, manage and direct all operations of the Branch Office to drive market growth through efficient, economical installation and service within established cost guidelines, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and scheduled customer commitments.
Must possess strong leadership, people-management, customer service skills with innovative and forward-thinking processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency of the Service Departments.
Direct, support and motivate the Service Department Managers.
Forecast, track, and monitor key indicators resulting from the efforts of the Inspection and Service Teams.
Establish long- and short-term goals, coordinating both internal and external activities.
Manage client satisfaction indicators and handle difficult client challenges.
Provide the overall direction and control of the operations of departments.
Ensure that the department follows all DOT, federal and state safety, health, and environmental requirements.
Review the Operations Department reports and provide explanations and corrective action for unfavorable variances.
Prepare all reports as required by the Vice President of Service Operations.
Promote teamwork within the operations group and among other departments within AFPS.
Uphold Advanced Fire Protection Services Mission, Vision, and Values.
Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Service Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in business, or related field preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting, P&L.
Work history with proven results.
4 years of supervisory experience 7 years of industry experience Acceptable background check, driver's license/record, and drug screen results.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proven work experience in a supervisory role Advanced knowledge and understanding of fire life and safety principles and applications to include management, sales skills, and abilities commensurate with the years of management experience, knowledge of fire / building codes, OSHA, and EPA regulations, scheduling, inventory, and job costing procedures and techniques.
Ability to direct the job flow from bidding/proposal to installation.
Ability to adjust schedules to meet customer and AFPS needs.
Able to calculate and understand financial reports, financial analysis, forecasts, budgets, and specialized skills for job cost and estimating related to the fire protection industry.
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
Proven experience in project management.
Ability to manage high level client relationships.
Computer skills, specifically in Excel and Outlook Ability to operate a motor vehicle, to visit Clients and job sites.
