The Coordinator is responsible is responsible for the delivery of on and off-site education programs to inspire actions that will have a lasting impact on marine life conservation, and inspire others to form an appreciation for wildlife.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and interest in nature and science while ensuring all education messages presented are accurate and current and have at least 5 years experience in the field.
This position is part of a muti-manager team responsible for guest services and managing day-to-day operations.
Education Coordinator is responsible for:
Booking school/ homeschool group field trips Correspond with teachers regarding field trips Meet and escort school/homeschool groups into the park Conduct instructor-led, Outreach, and Virtual programs.
Complete school group financial transactions Create new Instructor-led classes and conduct program revisions as needed to include the most up-to-date research, state, and accreditation standards using a variety of approaches.
Explore new ways to meet the needs of our local citizens, community groups, teachers, and students concerning marine science and conservation issues.
Develop and add educational programs to expand the educational departments reach in the community.
Monitor, Coordinate and Communicate the educational programs to the marketing manager to ensure that the online presence of the educational programs is reflected accurately on our website.
Provides support and guidance during Sunset Camp programming (spring/summer) Possession of outstanding communication and organization skills Occasionally, co-operatively manages daily park operations as necessary.
Trains and provides consistent and exceptional guest service practices Ability to work outside and on their feet for long durations in inclement weather conditions Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Willingness to represent the Gulfarium in appearance and action.
