Surgical Specialists, ASC Surgical Specialists, ASC Fort Walton Beach, FL Fort Walton Beach, FL Full-time Full-time $15 - $18 an hour $15 - $18 an hour We have a great opportunity for an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist in an ambulatory surgery center setting specializing in orthopedic surgery, pain management, and ophthalmology.
Qualifications / Job Duties:
Experience in insurance, verification, and authorization in an ambulatory surgery center or comparable required.
Solid understanding of medical insurance including deductibles, copay and coinsurance is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and commercial health insurance.
Ability to maintain operational knowledge of all insurance requirements necessary to achieve optimal reimbursement.
Understanding of medical billing.
Ability to accurately type 40 WPM, complete forms, simple correspondence and enter data.
Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills required.
Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, handle multiple tasks with short timelines, prioritize and organize work, and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
Experience with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office.
Skill in using office equipment:
computer skills, photocopier, telephone, fax machine, and calculator.
Strong, interpersonal skills required.
The ideal candidate is diplomatic, patient, flexible, and able to multi-task and work as a team member in many different areas as needed.
