Financial Assistant

Assists the church business administrator in the planning, development and implementation of the church's annual operating budget.
Accurately accounts, posts and tracks all monies received by the church in accordance with established accounting procedures and guidelines.
Receives, verifies and processes all requests for disbursements of funds. Prepares checks for payment of approved expenditures. Prepares and files all required financial reports concerning accounts payable transactions.
Processes employee payroll.
Attends committee meetings as required.
Qualifications:
An associated degree in accounting or business is preferred. Three years experience in he area of accounting. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
This is a part-time position, 10 hours per week.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
